Church response to the People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA). On 8th July 2011, NSM has organized a meeting for the church pastors and members with the help of CANA to sensitize the churches to take care of the socially stigmatized and discriminated people. As a result, many churches have come forward to visit the families living with HIV/AIDS. It is an open call for the readers to take care of the families and children of people living with HIV/AIDS. Please visit the families according to verse James 1:27 to look after orphans and widows in their distress.

HIV/AIDS CARE AND SUPPORT PROJECT
Navjeevan Seva Mandal is a voluntary social service organization registered an NGO with the Government of India in 1984. NSM strives to bring happiness and God’s image in the face of the vulnerable and deprived human beings particularly the children and women who live in remote forest, rural and slums in India. NSM serves for the total transformation of the target community through education, nutrition health care and spiritual nature to children; vocational training and self employment schemes for the youth and awareness creation, community based organization, micro credit, income generation activities, enhancement for the community as a whole. NSM working in 10 states in India (Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Orissa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Silvassa and Tamil Nadu) we are handling 61 various project in the community development.

Project Activities
Home Based Care Program
Home based program is an important intervention especially who are the people living with HIV/AIDS in Delhi. Families were very happy to be visited by the peer Group counselors counseling and regular house visit by the peer group counselor and staffs during their crisis. Because the regular house visit gives more energy and hope to the families that there people to take care in their crisis. The counselors and staffs have brought more hope to the families and children. Life skill education teaching and training to the families and children group bring the hope and confident among the PLHA families to promote their life.

Educational and institutional program
We are taking special care to the infected and affected children’s education and those who are not having both and single parents by the causes of the HIV/AIDS. In this kind of orphan and semi orphan child we have given their life security through the education. As well as help to develop their physical and psychological.
There are 483 children both affected and infected by HIV/AIDS and they are getting education support, nutritional support partly based on their needs. Under this program we are providing full educational support to the 28 orphan and semi orphan children. The children are studying well in different institution and they are well growing physically and spiritually.

Rehabilitation
Under the rehabilitation activities we are giving special initiative to the children for their health and education. The special program is that to provide the nutritional supplement to the PLHA and CLHA those who are having CD4 count less than 250 to improve their immune system that leads to reduce the opportunistic of infection. Moreover project is providing the basic supplements such as ration, food materials to the families who are suffered economically and hospitalized more than two weeks.
Empowerment
The project is helping directly to the PLHA families through the economical and social educational development of the target community in slum area for their Self reliance and betterment. Basically the people are facing lot of social discrimination and suppression from the society due to HIV/AIDS. So, NSM take initiative to strengthen socially, economically through regular teaching and training to the community based organization and micro credit activities.

This project especially the PLHA families and affected/infected children are needed the support in all the aspect of their life such as security, medical treatment, financial assistance, spiritual strength, love and care so that they may live long and take care of their children well and also the project is helping to the children’s education, nutrition supplements, vocational training micro credit loan to strengthen their business and assist to getting some of the government welfare schemes for the poor community. - · Children from Six PLHA Families brought back to the regular schooling
- · Last year 419 children have received the educational support from NSM
